Day 1 (yesterday) The Long Ride Home Begins

Well here we are at 830pm Day 2 at our campsite in Yelarbon with tired bodies!

Sorry about the lack of blog yesterday here is the reason why.

We drove through 20mm of rain to Chinchilla then at 4pm at 11 degrees with a 30knot headwind we left the Evision head office (thanks for the sponsorship again guys) and began the journey! It was a tough first ride and Les and Clarence did all the leading and Lars was a little bit soft making excuses of an upset stomach.

The sunset was magical but the headwind wasn't! Making it a real challenge. Our last 35km was in the dark riding up the deserted road from Tara out to Bron and Les (Kylie and Richard Rassmussen) friends farm. Apart from getting down to 6degrees while riding, having a stomach rumble that could rival an earthquake, the full moon and the beautifully quite country road made for a sublime experience and one that we road most of it without our bike lights on letting the moonlight guide the way.

Thankfully when we arrived at 7.30pm after 93km to a warm house and wonderful country hospitality from the Rassmussens!

5mins after we arrived the power went out and didn't come back on until after midnight! So after an hour with the wood fire cranking and our bellies full of country home made cooking (thanks to Bron and Kylie) and we were feeling the weight of our eyelids!

So all in all a tough day but the thought of the kiddies in Uganda who we are raising money for kept us going km after km.

Day 1 93km of our 1000km

We are getting close to raising $3000 on everyday hero so if you haven't had a chance jump on and support us!
A report on day two to follow tomorrow

With tired eyes.

Lars, Les, Claz, Dan and Trudy!
