First journal from Helen Paine

When fellow Forget Me Not members write or return and you listen to their thoughts on the girls and you imagine what that feeling would be like to be standing in their house, the house you have helped them sustain, let me tell you its overwhelming.  The girls are healthy, happy, well mannered, loving, grateful.  Each visit they all open up more.
Sarita holds my hands, she checks them out, she says you have "white skin Aunty, your hair has colour no" she picks it up, looks underneath and says "oh yes colour Aunty".  She loves my camera, looking at photos I have taken and taking a thousand of everyone and everything.  I needed to use the bathroom.  Sarita waited outside and had great delight in turning the light on and off, thankfully I wasn't squatting.   When I came out, she said, "Helen Aunty meant to turn hall light on and off" (as opposed to toilet light), my response was "ok really Sarita" and she laughed.  It's an experience like no other.
To help someone less fortunate than oneself, makes a whole world of difference to that someone else.  God bless you all.
Helen
